A little about you

Tell everyone a bit about yourself.  Maybe what photography is to you, how you got into it, where you are from, if you want you can even put in a link to your website so others can see your work.  Anything else you want to share about your passion for photography.

What are the judges looking for in photography competitions?

We have been asked what are some the subjects and attributes of a photo the judges might be looking for in this photography competition.

Here are a few things, not exhaustive by any means but a good start.

1. Creativity – Obviously there are numerous subjects and themes in photography. Landscape, portraits, animals, fashion, food, still life, macro – plants / insects / objects, buildings / structures, abstract, underwater, sporting events and many more. We are now into our 10th week of competition.  So far we have been blown away by how international the entries have been.  It seems that photography is one of those things in life which crosses all borders, nationalities, beliefs, socio-economic differences, ages etc.  Our winners have been from various countries so far - Australia, United States, Sweden, Germany, Lithuania, Russia.  Congratulations to all of the winners so far.  Thankyou to all of our entrants so far, keep them coming and keep telling your friends and family all around the world, word of mouth is by far the best way this competition will increase and become huge.  How exciting it will be for everyone when the prize money gets into the tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands and who knows what the limit will be, all for a single photograph.  Not bad for a single push of the button (and a bit of skill or luck).

Thanks, …
